Tutto inizia con una tempesta. Questa volta a naufragare non sono però il Duca di Milano, usurpatore del fratello Prospero, con la sua corte, ma alcune delle più celebri opere di Shakespeare. 

Ecco dunque che, oltre Calibano, una volta padrone e custode dell'isola, appaiono Romeo e Giulietta, perseguitati dalla guerra tra le loro due famiglie. E ancora Desdemona e Otello, vittime del tradimento di Iago, poi Amleto e Ofelia, gli eroi della tragedia del principe danese. Alla fine, lo stesso Antonio si confronterà con Bruto, il capo della cospirazione contro Cesare. 

L'isola si rivela come uno spazio sempre mutevole, che si trasforma da nave ad oceano, da spiaggia a balcone, da caverna a castello, grazie alla magia di un Ariel/demiurgo sempre al servizio e complice del maestro, un Prospero questa volta invisibile. Tale rincorrersi, a partire dai due fools Stefano e Trinculo, sembra voler testimoniare una necessità nuova: far rivivere quelle parole, quei gesti e quelle circostanze, come fossero lampi di una memoria imperdibile. 

I personaggi sono circondati da un mondo virtuale dal quale emergono come in un sogno, grazie ad una scenografia composta da un'enorme vela bianca che si trasforma di volta in volta, con la complicità di magnifiche proiezioni digitali: immagini dinamiche con colori di grande impatto visivo. 

Il Teatro si incontra con le ultime tecnologie, rendendo possibile elaborare una nuova e innovativa drammaturgia fatta di corpi e parole, di immagini e musica dal vivo di elevata suggestione poetica. Ma al di là di un nuovo incontro con il più grande drammaturgo di tutti i tempi, Shakespeare's island è un inno alla bellezza e alla sua effimera costituzione, oggi fortemente minacciata.

It all starts with a storm. However, the one to wreck is not the Duke of Milan, usurper of his brother Prospero, and his court, but some of the most famous works of Shakespeare.

It is here that we encounter Caliban, an ex-landlord and guardian of the island. We meet Romeo and Juliet, who are persecuted by the war among their families. On the island there are also Desdemona and Othello, the victims of Iago’s betrayal, together with Hamlet and Ophelia, the heroes of the tragedy of the Danish prince. Finally, there is Antony, who is preparing to face Brutus, the leader of the conspiracy against Julius Caesar.

The island is a space in constant mutation that transforms itself from ship to ocean, from balcony to beach, from cavern to castle. This happens thanks to the magic of Ariel, the demiurge working at the service of the master Prospero, whose presence remains invisible. The succession of events seems to stage the need for a re-enactment of words, gestures or circumstances so to become flashes of a memory that is going to last.

The characters are immersed in a in a dream-like world that arises thanks to a set design consisting of a huge white sail that from time to time transforms its appearance  with the use of digital projections: dynamic images with high-intensity colors. Theatre meets with the latest digital technology. This enables the development of a new, innovative dramaturgy made of bodies, words, images and live music of high poetical suggestion. Apart being an encounter with the greatest dramatist of all time, Shakespeare's island is a hymn to the ephemeral nature of beauty.
