“Vivere all’italiana sul palcoscenico”

 

Spettacolo multidisciplinare originale ed inedito, che trae origine dalla realtà mondana della seconda metà del secolo scorso, rappresentata sul grande schermo dal cineasta Federico Fellini, genio italiano conosciuto e apprezzato in tutto il mondo.

Ispirandosi alle visioni di Fellini, tornano in vita situazioni e personaggi che fanno ormai parte dei nostri archetipi culturali, grazie all’azione in scena di quattro attori e all’immersivo impianto scenografico fatto di luci e videoproiezioni. 

La vita mondana della Roma degli anni '50 e '60 così ben rappresentata nell’omonimo film, fa da sfondo a questo collage felliniano nel quale si vanno ad incastonare alcune scene tratte da altri film del maestro, che esprimono la grande fantasia associativa di questo genio della comunicazione visiva italiana, e vengono rilette in chiave moderna.

Teatro, danza, videoproiezioni fanno parte di questo spettacolo onirico, nel quale i personaggi entrano ed escono a loro piacimento e portano gli spettatori di tutto il mondo in una dimensione “altra”. Tra il teatro e il cinema, tra il sogno e la realtà, lo spettacolo vuole chiedersi innanzi tutto: ma la dolce vita, esiste ancora?

Immergersi nei film di Fellini è come immergersi nelle nostre vite. In profondità, alla ricerca delle nostre identità, delle nostre fonti creative, dei nostri più profondi desideri, istinti, sensazioni ma anche delle paure, dei timori, delle emozioni, dei pensieri, delle lacerazioni.

La dolce vita alla fine è quella che viviamo nel nostro straordinario contesto italiano fatto di antichità, di stratificazioni profonde, di storia, di arte, di architettura, di paesaggi straordinari.

Un paese dove crescono i limoni, un paese meraviglioso.

Ma la vita, e soprattutto il nostro lavoro di artisti, è fatto di tanti aspetti nascosti, segreti, invisibili.

Allora? Allora cos’è la dolce vita? Dov’è?

E’ un sogno? E’ solo un sogno?

Lo spettacolo è stato creato da un gruppo di persone che avevano lo stesso desiderio, lo stesso bisogno: entrare nel cuore della creatività, dell’immaginazione, fare un processo che impegnasse tutti noi alla ricerca di un mondo, quello felliniano, quello della dolce vita, che forse non esiste più! 

Cosa rimane di tutto questo? Forse rimane quello che facciamo, quello che facciamo insieme, che facciamo insieme per gli altri.

Il teatro, il cinema, l’arte.

Abbiamo creato una squadra di persone che avevano una grande intesa fra loro, persone molto creative e capaci di collaborare insieme. La musica, le scenografie, le proiezioni, lo spazio, i costumi, gli attori, le parole, i testi sono entrati tutti insieme in un processo creativo come partners.

Ognuno ha alimentato e stimolato l’immaginazione dell’altro per creare relazioni, visioni, pensieri, emozioni.

Uno scambio fruttuoso e piacevole.

E’ cosi che abbiamo affrontato temi come il sogno, le danze sfrenate e vitali, la morte dell’arte, le domande che saziano le curiosità e che ne aprono altre ancora più impellenti.

Le crisi personali, l’eros, i pensieri della morte, scuotono domande angosciose e creano uno stato di isteria, ci inseguono in ogni sogno e sono presenti in ogni scena.

E’ cosi che ci siamo avvicinati al mondo di Fellini, è così che abbiamo tentato di entrarci in sintonia mettendolo in relazione con la nostra immaginazione e con i nostri sogni, che a volte sembravano, da lontano, gli stessi.

“The sweet life” is an original and previously unrealeased multidisciplinary performance, born out of the elite world of the second half of last century, depicted on the big screen by film-maker Federico Fellini, an Italian genius known and appreciated worldwide.

Taking inspiration from Fellini’s vision, situations and characters which are by now part of our cultural archetypes come back to life, thanks to the action onstage by four actors and to the immersive scenographic system made of lights and video projections.

The Roman worldly life of the 50s and 60s, so well depicted in the film by the same name, is the background for this Fellinian collage, in which some scenes drawn from other Fellini’s films nestle, expressing the huge associative fantasy of this genius of the visual Italian communication, while being reinterpreted in a modern key.

Theatre, dance, video projections consitute this dreamlike performance, where characters enter and exit as they wish bringing the audience from all over the world in an “other” dimension. Between theatre and cinema, between dream and reality, the aim of the performance is above all to ask: does the sweet life still exist?

 

 

DIRECTOR’S NOTES

“The film we thought we were just witnessing is really the story of our life”

 

Immersing ourselves in Fellini’s films is like immersing ourselves in our own lives. Deep down, in search of our identities, of our creative sources, of our deepest desires, instincts, feelings, but also fears, worries, emotions, thoughts, wounds.

In the end, the sweet life is what we live in our extraordinary Italian context, made of antiques, of deep wounds, of history, art, architecture, wonderful landscapes.

A land where the lemons grow, a wonderful land.

But life, and especially our work as artists, is made of many hidden, secret, invisible aspects.

And then? And then what sweet life is? Where is it?

Is it a dream? Is it just a dream?

The performance was created by a group of people with the same desire, the same need: to enter the heart of creativity, of imagination, to start a process that could involve all of us in the search for a world, the Fellinian world, the world of the sweet life, that maybe doesn’t exist anymore!

What doeas remain of all this? Maybe what remains is what we do, what we do together, what we do together for the others.

Theatre, cinema, art.

We put up a team of people who went on really well with each other, very creative people who were able to work together. Music, scenographies, projections, the space, costumes, actors, words, texts, they all entered together in a creative process as partners.

Everyone fed and inspired each other’s imagination in order to create relations, visions, thoughts, emotions.

A fruitful and pleasant exchange.

This is how we dealt with themes like the dream, the wild and lively dances, the death of art, the questions that satisfy curiosity opening to other more pressing questions.

The personal crisis, eros, the thoughts about death, do shake anguished questions and generate a frenetic status. They haunt us in every dream and they are there in every scene.

This is how we got closer to Fellini’s world. This is how we tried to get in tune with it by correlating it with our imagination and our dreams, which sometimes, from afar, seemed to be the same thing.
